"Run, Run, Run as fast as you can... you can't catch me I'm The Gingerbread Man" as the story goes. But you can catch The Gingerbread Man these days. He's sitting in our cases everyday this month. Gingerbread is synonymous with the holiday season...just look around. This past week I saw everything from gingerbread candles, pillows, socks and hand soap to gingerbread coffee, tea, and even cheesecake. When it comes to actually spotting The Gingerbread Man himself, he is hard to find. As an ornament he is everywhere, but edible he is not. Since Gingerbread is one of the famed tastes of the season, it made me think, "why not sink your teeth into the real thing?". Haegele's has been making The Gingerbread Man for 87 years. As a kid, the best part is biting his head off first. I don't know why...it just seems to be the thing to do. For adults, our Gingerbread Man is not opposed to going for a swim in your cup of coffee either. Dipping a leg or two, warms him up a bit while leaving some of his flavor in your cup, naturally! Nothing compares to the smell of this guy baking in our oven or the taste of him when he dances on your tongue. So stop by our bakery sometime this month and indulge yourself in the scent and the taste of the holiday season. But remember...Run, Run, Run, as fast as you can... there's only 30 days to catch our Gingerbread Man!
