Holy Week Began on Sunday and in a few short days, the highest of Christian holidays will be celebrated. Easter, also known as Resurrection Day, is truly a celebration of Life. Haegele's is preparing for the holiday with many traditional favorites from babka, and poppyseed strudel, to ckick hi-hats and cocoanut-marshmallow bunnies. The one item that always catches my eye each year, is our Easter Egg pound cake. The colors of Spring seem to jump from the canvas of poured chocolate icing. The egg itself just shouts Easter! It's a symbol of new life, going back to the Passover meal itself. We dye eggs, hunt for Easter eggs, deliver eggs by means of the "Easter Bunny", but by far, the most delicious tradition for the Easter Egg is the one pictured above.... a pound cake Egg from Haegele's!
