THINK GREEN!

With St. Patrick's Day only a week away, the color green dominates our store. There's a glistening pot of gold in the window, and "Danny Boy" is lingering in the air. Most days there is a hint of cinnamon in the air as well, as we hand roll our Irish Potatoes just for the season. We've been making our own Irish Potatoes for St. Patty's Day for years now. It came to be by a customer's request. "Why don't you make Irish Potatoes?"..."why not?", we thought. So we trialed a few recipes, and hands down our customers and employees claimed a winner. Our "winning" recipe contains both butter and cream cheese and our batches are made with or without cocoanut. Please ask if you prefer a box with no cocoanut. A warm thanks to those who asked for Irish Potatoes many years ago, for they are a personal favorite in our household. They have become a March tradition along with Irish Frogs and Irish Soda Bread. It's funny how somethings you never outgrow. When taking the above picture, our 24 year son firmly interjected that he had yet to see his own box this year. I quickly corrected that, and assembled his St. Patrick's Day goodies...a box of Irish Potatoes, a few Frogs & cupcakes, and a big Shamrock Cookie! Ah yes, somethings you never do outgrow!
