When Hot Cross Buns hit our shelves on Ash Wednesday, forty days seemed like a long time off. The Lenten season as well as the offering of this delicate treat, are coming quickly to a close. Easter will soon be here! Right now our shelves are quite full with all our specialty items for the holiday. We have decorated Easter Egg pound cakes and Cocoanut Marshmallow Bunny Layer Cakes. Since it is quite the holiday for Babka, we have it available with cheese, almond, raisin, or even plain in the shape of a rabbit with a hard boiled egg for its tail. Poppy-seeds have been crushed and almond paste made fresh for our holiday strudel. If you miss it at Easter, it's a long wait til we make it again at Thanksgiving. Cocoanut Custard and Lemon Meringue pies are available in addition to our full assortment of fruit and whipped cream pies. There's cheesecakes and Easter Nest Buttercake, and little Chick Hi-Hats and so much more that it's easier to say just come and see! Oh Easter is truly a joyous and triumphant holiday and we appreciate sharing it's celebration year after year with all our customers. Some things don't change and Haegele's will be closing from 12-3pm on Good Friday in observance of those precious Holy hours. There was a time when all businesses ceased and our Nation recognized the hour of the cross. We are so grateful for the many words of support extended to us this week as we keep the religious tradition. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, snow is gone, and all of creation is resonating with new life. Feel the sunshine and have a Blessed Easter!
